About Helen Fontaine
Helen Fontaine is decended from 7 generations of french ancestors, they originated from western France near La Rochelle. Gradually these families moved to England and America. Helen was born & brought up in Lancashire, She holidayed in France for many years with her parents and sisters and later with her husband and her own children.
Helen and her husband renovated several homes in the UK and she developed a strong interest in Architecture and Design, she and her husband were finally able to realise their own dream of buying a French property in 2004 and have spent many happy summers there.
Helen and her family spend a great deal of time in France and plan to settle permanently in 2010. Helen and her family chose the South Vendee because of the proximity to the coast, the airport and UK ferry crossing points, with the advantage of the increased hours of sunshine in the area, due to the microclimate there.
During the last 5 years, she has learned a great many lessons about how to do things in France and seen so many beautiful properties lying empty, or becoming run down, crying out for a loving owner to enjoy them. Helen feels she can help other people in her situation to find a beautiful holiday or retirement home, without the time and expense normally associated with such a search.
